Can you imagine the salty air and feel the sand beneath your feet? That means summer is here!
Let’s dive into some of Ocean City’s best summer activities to enjoy when you book your stay at the Port-O-Call Hotel.
Bicycling
If you don’t want to bring your bike all the way from home, it’s easy to rent a bike or a surrey for your trip. Visit 12th Street Bathouse & Bikes, Ocean City Bicycle Center, Oves Seafood Restaurant and Bikes, Bob’s 14th St. Bike Rentals, or Shore Rides for all of your bike rental needs. From May 15 to Labor Day, bike traffic is only allowed between 5 a.m. and 12 p.m. Get out there early to enjoy the smaller crowds and cooler temperatures.
Close to the Port-O-Call Hotel, you can bike to the Howard Stainton Wildlife Refuge. This is the perfect spot to bring nature-loving children and curious adults. You can observe waterfowl and marshland birds as they enjoy their natural habitat.
Another great spot to bike is Crook Horn Creek Nature Trail. This mostly paved nature trail is about a mile and a half out and back and gives you a quiet, beautiful escape.
For an enjoyable biking experience with monarch butterflies, ducks, geese, and dolphins, visit Corson’s Inlet State Park. Covering 341 acres at the southern tip of Ocean City, it’s perfect for nature lovers. Access the park from the beach at 59th Street and Central Avenue or from the bay, half a mile south of 56th Street on Bay Avenue.

Fishing
Whether you’re new to fishing or a seasoned expert, Ocean City has something for everyone.
In the bays and creeks of the area, sea trout, sea bass, “snapper” blues, croaker, and flounder can be found. The Delaware Bay yields even more varieties, including drumfish, sheepshead, channel catfish, and much more.
For more adventurous fishers, you can look into some of OCNJ’s many charters. These boats are staffed by some of the most knowledgeable people around, and they will know the best places to cast your line. Visit Ocean City’s website to learn more about charters in the area.
